Kiwi.com Weekend in the Cloud is a free weekend training event led by top Kiwi.com Platform and SRE engineers that will provide you with a technical introduction to the Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Terraform, Kubernetes and monitoring tools.

Entry task

The entry task is a simple assignment to ensure that you have the basic knowledge necessary to understand the topics that will be covered, including the basics of Docker, web services and security. Currently, the entry task is a work in progress, you will get it as soon as we have it.

Miloš Vyletel

Milos has a background in OS development (ranging from userspace down to kernel) and in past 2,5 years, he started focusing on DevOps/cloud and all the shiny new technologies.

Linux (and other unix like OSes), Kernel, HW, networks and other low level stuff

Michal Trunečka

Michal developed through all (Dev)Ops maturity stages in Kiwi.com from manual management to modern CI/CD solutions. He has a strong background in Linux management and in the last years, he has been responsible for CDN and central logging solutions.

Erik has a strong background with Python development and he enjoys writing Go. In the past 2 years he has been focused primarily on infrastructure management and container technologies.

Ondrej Bilčík

Ondrej has a background in Network administration and a passion for all things Linux. Since joining the Site Reliability Engineers he’s been trying to broaden his knowledge in every area which he can get his hands on.

Tomáš Holcman

Tomáš has been through almost all aspects of application development including front-end, mobile, backend development and infrastructure management. In the past few years he has been focused primarily on cloud and containers and he’s one of our Site Reliability Engineers.

Tomáš Papež

Tomas has a background in managing HA Linux clusters and then he discovered the power of Cloud computing. He started experiments with Azure and ended up with Google. He loves to play with Kubernetes, CI/CD based on multiple technologies and Serverless.

What skills do I need for the weekend?

You should be able to solve the entry task

Is there any fee to pay?

No, the whole educational weekend is free of charge and sponsored by Kiwi.com.

Do you provide free flights?

Each accepted participant that doesn’t come from the Czech Republic or Slovakia will get a 50 EUR Kiwi.com voucher.

Do you provide accommodation?

Yes, we’ll book an AirBnB apartment for the non-Bratislava participants. If you need accommodation, let us know via the application form.
